5 YEARS OLD!
Kul Wheels opening day was Oct 1, 2016 which makes us 5 years old! And since 5 year olds love parties, you’re invited to our OPEN HOUSE PARTY on Saturday October 2 from 10AM-4PM. We won’t have any pony rides BUT we will have FREE test rides all day long on all our brands (Blix, Magnum, Electric Bike Company and Gazelle), the 64 Crayons Band will play from 1-3PM and we’ll have giveaways, raffles on the hour and half hour and cake & ice cream! Oh and we’ll take 5% off all accessories and parts in stock.
GROUP ELECTRIC RIDE
RVA Bike Month moved from May to October this year and Kul Wheels is leading the FIRST RVA Bike Month Electric Bike Group Ride on Friday Oct 22nd. It’s FREE and open to anyone who has an electric bike (we’ll also have pre-booked rentals available on our website if you don’t own an e-bike) . We’ll meet at the Stone Brewing parking lot at 3:30PM with wheels up at 4PM. We’ve created a route that takes us on the Virginia Capital Trail through Rocketts Landing, by Varina fields and farms and onto Battlefield Park Drive to Fort Harrison. We’ll make a quick stop there and then head back to Stone Brewing for a drink and to watch the sunset. Route is approximately 18 miles and about 2 hours of riding.

UPS was founded in 1907 by two teenagers with one bicycle and $100 borrowed from a friend.
Encycopedia of Trivia
UPS now uses electric bikes in some cities for deliveries!
Be Seen: There are fewer hours of daylight during this time of year and generally more cloudy days. Therefore, bike lights and reflective clothing and gear is a must. When you go out for a ride, make sure motorists can see you clearly.
Leaves: Being immersed in the beauty of nature is often one of the best parts of fall cycling. But the autumn leaves can become a hazard when they pile up. Even when the trail is dry, the leaves may be damp and slippery. Always scan the road ahead of you for leaf piles. When riding over leaves, maintain a steady speed rather than accelerate. And if making a turn over leaves, avoid braking and keep your posture upright. This can lessen the risk of a fall (bad pun not intended — ha ha!).
Layer Up: The temperature can fluctuate from cold in the morning to hot by the afternoon. The best way to balance this is by wearing multiple layers that you can easily remove and put back on to find your perfect temperature.
RVA ELECTRIC BIKE LOVERS
The RVA Electric Bike Lovers Facebook Group has been created and we would love for you to join and exchange electric bike information with other Richmond area e-bike owners. Find out about e-bike group rides, training/educational information and share your rails-to-trails or other trail and ride experiences with the group.
